How to Copy and Paste

Using a PC
(All clicks are LEFT clicks unless stated otherwise.)
  1. Move the cursor to the beginning of the text you want to copy and click to set it.
  2. Click and hold down the mouse button while moving the mouse to drag the cursor over the text. It will change color. This is called 'selecting the text' or 'highlighting'.
  3. Right click the selected text.
  4. On the popup menu that appears, click 'Copy'. The text is copied to the invisible Windows clipboard.
  5. Move to your browser and click the mouse where you want to insert the text.
  6. Right click, and select 'Paste'. The text will appear.
You can substitute the keyboard shortcuts:
To copy, highlight the text, then press the Ctrl key and the C key together.
To paste, move the cursor to the desired location, then press the Ctrl key and the V key together.

 

Using a MAC

  1. Move the cursor to the beginning of the text you want to copy and click to set it.

  3. Go to the Edit menu and select 'Copy'.
  4. Move to your browser and click the mouse where you want to insert the text.
  5. Go to the Edit menu and select 'Paste'.
You can substitute the keyboard shortcuts:
To copy, highlight the text, then press the Command (Apple button) and the C key together.
To paste, move the cursor to the desired location, then press the Command (Apple button) and the V key together.
